The Faceless- Unleashed!

Yup! Today is the official UK release date of The Faceless. It went on US release on January 31st, and those who preordered on Amazon have been getting their copies over the last couple of days. But now it's out there.

Very, very happy about this.

Off tomorrow to the SFX Weekender. Brian Blessed is one of the guests. He's just started following me on Twitter. This is somewhat awesome. Sophie Aldred (ex-Doctor Who companion) will also be there. I had a truly industrial-strength crush on her when I was a lad. I may struggle to string a coherent sentence together. No change there then.

Have a great weekend, everybody. :)

Started reading it yesterday - OMG! Love it so far (and so creepy).

I heard Anthony Head will be at the weekender. *Faint*

Shall I get you his autograph?

And thanks! Glad you like it! :)

Yes...but I'd rather you stuffed him in your suitcase and brought him to mine. Or maybe I'll just hide in your suitcase and pop out at an opportune moment.

Note to you: You may need a trunk.

I've got a backpack. Luckily I'm quite sturdily built. I'll do my best, but if Sophie Aldred's there I'll probably just be staring slackjawed at her. I was in love with her as Ace in Dr Who, especially when she took out a Dalek armed only with a baseball bat. :)

Awwww... Make sure not to dribble :D

Simon, you will have a hangover as you read this, so all I can say is that I hope you weren't arrested for too much dribbling. Again.

Heh heh heh.

Hi Simon
Almost finished reading THE FACELESS. Got back from SFX weekender late Sat night started reading Sunday. Loving it! Brilliant work. Congrats. I stuck to my promise and came back to the stall and picked up a copy of the book, was hoping youd sign it but I guess youd probably gone to the bar, maybe? Ill finish tonight. Love you to consider coming to GrimmFest this year. Best Simeon

Chris- I managed not to! Sadly Sophie Aldred couldn't make it- a lot of people had trouble getting up from London due to a derailment!

TheMoose65- thanks for getting a copy! Hope you enjoy.

Hi Simeon- very glad you're enjoying the novel and yes, I'd be delighted to come to Grimm this year. I had about an hour's stint signing at the Solaris stall- after that I just staggered back to my cell- sorry, chalet- and collapsed for a bit! I really wasn't much of a party beast last weekend (but will be making up for it this coming one!) All the best to you and Rachel.

Finished this last week. Truly brilliant (and tapping into a lot of my own personal fears). Stuck in the middle of a house-moving nightmare at the moment but hopefully it'll be over soon and I can post up a proper review. Thanks for a great book though Simon.

Question, and possible SPOILER ALERT.

I was just curious about the Shrike. The hints about him made him seem super creepy, and I was just wondering if this is a character who has appeared in any of your short stories (I've only read The Narrows, which was amazing) or if he is something we will see more of in the future. Thanks.

Anthony- many thanks, and you're welcome!

*THOSE WHO FEAR THE (MILD) SPOILER, LOOK AWAY NOW*
TheMoose65- I think he pops as 'Dermot', in my short story of the same name (published in Black Static #26, to be reprinted in Best Horror of the Year #4); he'll also show up in an ebook mini-collection of short stories that Solaris will be releasing later this year. I have planned and part-written a novel in which he's a major character, but it'll be a while before I can get back to that. :)

Thanks Simon. It was a cool book, and I look forward to hunting down and reading more of your stories!
